Everyone seems to have a favorite song that they like to use in their shows...  this is my favorite.  It's a great song as an ice breaker for preschoolers, silliness for school age, and even fun for the adults that are attending!  Kit comes with a copy of the song on a 8 1/2" X 11" sheet.  And a  5 1/2" X  4 1/4" card for each animal.  All cards are laminated and ready for LOTS of use!

Just a personal side note here - I don't like the 'traditional' ending of the old lady dying and will have MY old lady burp at the end.  Not a belch - don't get gross...  I've never figured out why burps make kids giggle, but they do.  To me it's a more acceptable finish.  I tell her to excuse herself...

I found that when I just sang the song with the children, many did not know the song very well and the adults couldn't remember the verses.   And I don't like to sing alone, sooooo...  I designed the cards to use as I sang and on 'their' animal they could hold up the card for everyone to see - which makes this an action game for the older kids (especially if you sing the chorus a little fast... tee-hee) and guaranteed for giggles.  

When I use these for preschoolers, I use this song as an ice breaker. As many children that age are intimidated with the 'clown' persona, I will sit on the floor cross-legged (their level) with the cards in my hand.  On each animal introduced, I will show the card as I sing, then lay the card on the floor, in order, around myself in a crescent shape.  Then on the chorus, I'll hold up each card on the appropriate animal.  I may not get all the preschoolers to sing with me, but the adults see the cards and can sing with me (so it's not just ME singing...).  Then, by the end of the song, the children seemed to be 'warmed up' to your character and will want to participate more in your show.

Along with the song kit that I use for myself, I will take these give-away cards that are the same size, but not laminated (so they're less expensive).  If the event is at a preschool, daycare or birthday party I will give them a set of these cards to keep for themselves.  All cards are 5 1/2" X 4 1/4" with one extra blank card included.

It's a two-fold thing;  1-They can use these cards to practice the song after I leave (that's what I tell them) and 2-it's a PR thing...  I include one blank card  in the set for you to put your name and phone number and info. on it (or glue your business card to it) that is the same size as the animal cards and then they'll keep it with the deck of cards...  remember how nice and fun you were...  call you back at a later date... or recommend you to their friends...  GET IT ???  (I'm not as dumb as I am, ya know! - hee again)
